About Florida Speakers Association

Florida Speakers Association (FSA) is a chapter of the National Speakers Association (NSA), an organization dedicated to the growth and development of the speaking profession. Founded in 1980, the Florida Speakers Association maintains an active membership and involvement in virtually all aspects of the professional speaking industry. We have won NSA’s Chapter of Excellence Award for every year since 1988.

Mission & Vision

Our Mission Statement is to provide education and best practices to help our community of members sharpen their skills and expand their understanding of the speaking profession.

Our Vision: The Florida Speakers Association is the premier Association in South Florida for experts who use the spoken word to present content to an audience for a fee.

Chapter Meetings

Our chapter typically meets the second Saturday of September, October, November, January, February, March, April, May, and June for half-day meetings in the Ft. Lauderdale/Broward County area. Throughout the year, we hold additional events of value to speakers and to those who utilize professional speakers.

NSA Membership

Membership in the National Speakers Association is required in order to obtain full membership and all of the benefits available within the Florida Speakers Association.

Our History

NSA’s first 10 chapters were officially chartered at the 1981 Convention: The Florida Speakers Association was among these first 10. Other chapters chartered at the same time were: The Arizona Speakers Association; the Georgia Speakers Association; the Greater Los Angeles Chapter; the National Capital Speakers Association; the North Texas Speakers Association; NSA of Indiana; NSA of Northern California; Ohio Speakers Forum; and Wisconsin Professional Speakers Association.
